Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Retail Governance Analyst on a permanent basis on our Legal Compliance and Governance team.

This position is a remote opportunity with a requirement for 5-10% travel for in-person board meetings and events. The successful candidate can be based across western Canada, with a preference for Saskatchewan.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and governance issues, providing actionable insights and recommendations through concise reports.
  • Support events such as annual meetings and leaders’ conferences by managing external facilitators and maintaining event databases.
  • Facilitate and deliver training sessions on governance principles, ethics, and compliance for stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing governance-related inquiries and keeping them informed of updates and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align governance strategies with organizational goals and provide ongoing support to business advisors.

Who you’ll work with:

You will report to the Manager, Retail Governance as part of a small two-person retail governance team. This welcoming group fosters a culture of forward thinking, collaboration, and open communication. You will interact often with a variety of professionals from the Co-op & External Relations team, and support General Managers, CEOs, and Boards of Directors at local Co-ops across western Canada.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Governance and:

  • Have 1-3 years of relevant experience in governance, policy development, or a related field. 
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in business or a relevant field (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Are familiar with the co-operative business model (considered an asset).
