Overview

Responsible for working independently to support Scientific & Regulatory Affairs as well as Quality related initiatives, including but not limited to responding to customer requests of product documentation such as questionnaires, creating new statements regarding regulatory and quality compliance, preparing SOPs, and implementing and supporting quality systems. The primary focus of this role will be supporting regulatory compliance for our stocks and broth concentrates business.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or equivalent scientific discipline
  • 2-3 years’ experience in food regulatory compliance, quality systems, or food safety

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Capability to understand basic food regulations (USDA, FDA). Experience with USDA-regulated foods a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ingredients and food science and technology training preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently with minimal supervision; actively seeks guidance

when needed to maintain progress on assignments.

  • Strong time management skills; able to advance and monitor progress on multiple requests

simultaneously, able to prioritize projects when faced with ambiguity.

  • Robust attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, SharePoint)
  • Ability to learn ERP software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain calm and professional in the event of an emergency

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General office environment
  • Occasional work in manufacturing environment in various temperatures
  • Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other

team members

  • All safety procedures in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting, repetitive use of hands/arms, and eye/hand coordination for 6+ hours per day
  • Occasional personal vehicle/rental car use
  • General office equipment use

Responsibilities

.           Customer documentation requests & document coordination

  • Support the integration of the More Than Gourmet product line into SRA processes for managing customer documentation requests & document coordination.
  • Autonomously manage and supervise the sharing of quality and regulatory documents to standard customer inquiries: coordinate response to non-standard inquires and requests.
  • Use knowledge of food regulations to populate quality related documents on Tracegains and similar

sites (e.g., FoodLogiQ, SafetyChain, etc.)

  • Maintain quality and regulatory documents (data packs) that are up to date; creating and revising documents when necessary; retain documents electronically in an orderly manner accessible to technical, regulatory, product managers, quality assurance and customer service.
  1. Quality systems implementation and support
  • Works with minimal supervision to author and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • As needed, independently draft quality related documents and statements regarding Ajinomoto’s

compliance with local, state, and national regulations

  • Interpret basic food regulations (FDA, USDA) as well as international standards such as Codex

Alimentarius

  • Support MTG quality team in distributor product assessments, collecting documentation from suppliers, and preparing SOPs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation and operation of PLM system, working with the commercialization, supply chain, and quality teams.
  • Assist with integration of SRA documents into Intelex system.

 

  1. Stakeholder support
  • Supports the training of sales, technical, customer service and other groups as needed, on the

systems and processes for providing quality documentation to customer.

  • Provide regulatory support to site Quality & Food Safety Manager, as appropriate, on USDA products and resolution/closure of noncompliance records (NRs).
  • Work collaboratively with local/international technical, regulatory, QA, product managers and

customer service teams to complete customer surveys or quality documents requests in a timely

fashion to support AJINA sales team.

  • Aid team leaders in preparing technical presentations and materials
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with Ajinomoto Group companies to support product

assessments, maintaining up-to-date product documentation, and educating about regulatory compliance & scientific affairs

                       

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$33.35 per hour to $41.70 per hour
