Senior Data Governance Analyst

Arch Insurance International is a fast-growing insurance company which provides underwriting solutions across a diverse and growing portfolio of over 20 business classes, spanning multiple platforms in the London company market, the Lloyd’s market, the UK regional markets, and markets in Australia, Bermuda, and the EU.

With this growth and our long-term ambitions, we are investing significantly within data, and recently setup the Chief Data Office.

Job Summary

As the new Senior Data Governance Analyst within our Chief Data Office you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management, compliance, and integrity of our data assets. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing data quality, privacy, and security measures across our organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data-driven professional with a passion for data governance to be part of the creation of a best-in-class data governance framework.

In this role you will

  • Lead on aspects of the implementation and continuous improvement of the Data Governance framework, policies, procedures, and standards
  • Lead on Standardization of the Data Definition, Lineage and Data Issues Resolution process
  • Partner with senior business stakeholders across various functions i.e., LM & Regional Underwriting, Actuarial, and Operations etc. to ensure data is accurate, complete, and properly managed
  • Engage with Data Owners, Stewards, IT System owners and SMEs to create and maintain data dictionary and metadata repository
  • Lead on aspects of embedding the Data stewardship in the business, assist in the creation of decks for Data Governance forums, facilitate the agenda and contribute actively to these forums
  • Help create content for data governance Training programmes and assist in running these with business users to improve awareness
  • Contribute to KPI and KRI creation including monitoring and reporting certification progress of the Data Governance programme

You should apply if you have

  • Experience within the Company and/or London Market Insurance sectors
  • Experience and working knowledge of Data Governance methodologies and experience implementing these in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience with Collibra or another data governance tool
  • You are a team player whom your colleagues can rely on
  • You are impact driven and eager to have a real positive impact on the company and clients

Nice to haves

  • Hold a relevant data governance methodology (e.g. DAMA CDMP, DCAM or similar)
