Job Summary

The Senior Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing Compliance Specialists and a Compliance Generalist within the region, managing the compliance program, conducting audits, providing guidance on compliance matters, and collaborating with various departments to implement effective compliance strategies. The Senior Compliance Specialist also serves as a subject matter expert, providing advice and support to the organization on complex compliance issues.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards across all regions.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that could impact the organization.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to the organization’s regional operations.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to Compliance Specialists in various regions.
  • Ensure consistency in compliance practices and procedures across all regions.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with Compliance Specialists to monitor compliance activities and address any issues.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs at the regional level.
  • Identify areas of risk and develop region-specific mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of corrective actions when compliance issues are identified.
  • Develop and distribute compliance-related communications and updates to the team and center staff. 
  • Conduct and oversee investigations into suspected compliance violations within the region and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities, findings, and recommendations.
  • Design and deliver compliance training programs tailored to the needs of different regions.
  • Provide ongoing education and support to ensure that center staff are aware of and understand compliance obligations.
  • Assist in the development and review of internal policies and procedures to ensure they align with regulatory requirements across all regions.
  • Provide guidance on the creation and maintenance of documentation related to the compliance specialist activities.
  • Work closely with centers to integrate compliance into daily operations.
  • Provide advice and support to ops management on regional compliance-related matters.
  • Identify opportunities for improving compliance processes at the regional level and recommend solutions.
  • Lead or participate in special projects related to compliance that impact the regions.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance role.

 

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Certification in compliance or willing to obtain within 6 months.

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and healthcare standards.

Physical Demands
