The role
To help support our firm with the ever-increasing range of regulatory
and legal controls governing our work, our Risk & Compliance Team
has recently created a new role for a Senior Compliance Manager.
Being part of a relatively small team of seven people, the role is
inevitably broad in scope, with the opportunity to support us across
all aspects of law firm compliance issues. In particular, in this role
you will:
- Support the Director of Risk & Compliance with the
development, implementation and ongoing improvement of compliance
frameworks and controls;
- Conduct and review CDD/KYC on a diverse client base, including
higher-risk sectors, and contribute to the development of a risk
appetite profile; and
- Contribute to risk assessments, policy drafting, and continuous
improvement initiatives in response to a changing regulatory landscape
Acting as a trusted deputy to the Director of Risk & Compliance,
you'll bring wisdom, expertise and guidance to the team, playing a key
role in supervising, nurturing and upskilling junior colleagues.
You'll also deliver training across the firm to maximise understanding
and observance of the firm's policies and procedures.
Additionally, alongside your BAU activities, you'll be responsible
for leading important projects and will play a critical role in
supporting the strategic development of the firm's compliance function.
It's a role with plenty of scope to make a real difference. You'll
play a key role in navigating our way through our regulatory
obligations and ensuring we effectively manage business risks, finding
solutions to enable our continued business success and profitability.
About you
We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact, so you
must already have a significant level of experience in a compliance
function in a UK law firm, probably gained over at least 5 years.
Specifically, you'll have:
- A robust understanding of SRA Standards & Regulations,
data/cyber security, AML, anti-bribery and other compliance issues
- Practical experience handling CDD/KYC, including high-risk client
onboarding and making Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
- Experience of devising, updating and implementing compliance
policies, controls, procedures and processes
We're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment,
cares about doing things properly, and enjoys solving problems with a
practical, calm approach. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear
from you.

holiday (plus birthdays off and buy/sell options), comprehensive
