What is it like to be a Data Governance Manager at Northbridge Financial

Reporting to the Director of D&A Governance, the Manager is responsible for implementing and growing Data Governance capabilities (incl. processes, policies, and tooling) at Northbridge Financial, as well as collaborating with all teams to ensure Data Governance is delivered effectively in all business areas. The Manager will partner with the Data COE in leading and executing a strategic roadmap with the objective of a single consistent trusted data foundation to assist in the acceleration of growth.

If you are great at:

  • Experience with building data strategies including value driven prioritization.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Governance and previous experience working with Data Management and Governance concepts and capabilities including business glossaries, data dictionaries, data policies and guidelines, data lineage, metadata management, data quality (both proactive and reactive), and issue remediation
  • Experience around working with data bases including data lake house with type 2 tables.
  • Experience with data management tools such as Informatica (CDGC or IDMC).
  • Excellent and proven problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational awareness demonstrated ability to anticipate and communication risks and issues and escalate when required.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well in a fast paced and dynamic agile environment.
  • Strong sense of presence. Confident and comfortable working with senior management
  • CDMP certification is an asset (Certified Data Management Professional)
  • Strategic thinker and capable of assessing the impact of decisions.

If you have:

  • B. Sc Computer Science, Mathematics, Stats, Engineering, Data Science and Analytics, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in and understanding of concepts and frameworks pertaining to Data Management and/or Data Governance (i.e., Data Policy, Data Lineage, Data Models, Data Quality, Reference Data Management, Metadata Management)
  • 3+ years of leading a data focused team.
  • Experience with Informatica is an asset
  • Data Governance experience is a must.
