Amentum is seeking a Manager of Government Accounting Compliance (GAC) who is an energetic, team player, motivated and a masterful communicator to join our Compliance Team. The Manager GAC is responsible for staying informed of current regulatory changes relevant to the company, performing expert-level technical research, serving as a liaison between the DCAA and various internal departments, ensuring compliance as a subject matter expert (SME) within the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other applicable Government regulations, and developing customer-ready responses to Government requests based on situational facts and regulations. Other responsibilities could include serving as an instructor for the company on technical matters discussed above and may be called upon to lead cross-departmental or team projects as needed.  Also, coordinate projects and provide expertise among groups to improve process efficiencies.

US Citizenship is required, this is a remote-telework role!

Typical duties include:

  • Responsible for providing subject matter expertise of company position on highly technical Government accounting, regulatory, and business system related issues.
  • Stay informed of current regulatory changes (FAR, CAS, and other Government regulations) relevant to the company and ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provide guidance and assistance in preparing incurred cost submissions, cost impacts resulting from accounting changes, and advance agreements, as appropriate.
  • Operate independently in coordinating and supporting DCAA and DCMA audits and requests as well as the related responses that may involve multiple departments.
  • Provide expertise in implementing compliance programs, including developing policies and procedures regarding DCAA business system audits and allowability governance.
  • Assist Direct Management with supervision of direct reports, which may include providing input and recommendations regarding employee performance, addressing escalated issues, setting priorities, reviewing/approving/auditing work, and mentoring/developing staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Expert-level analytical skills with an ability to interpret regulations and legal cases and apply those concepts to a variety of situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with a variety of levels and positions in the organization.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deliver all assigned work on schedule, meeting DCAA and DCMA requests and deadlines and ensuring favorable rapport is maintained.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications including Excel, Word and Power Point.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience with 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of FAR, CAS, and other Government regulations.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
