Job Description

Our client is an award-winning building services design consultancy. Due to continuing growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen. We are looking for an experienced Ethics & Compliance Officer to join our friendly, fast paced and creative working environment. This is a permanent position reporting to the Business Services Director where the successful candidate will have specific responsibility to carry out a wide range of duties to provide support and assist in the provision of administration in respect of ethics and compliance services and outputs including, conducting details risk assessments and reviews, policy adoption and dissemination, guidance on policy processes and key point of contact for Ethics matters.

The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and assist in more complex ethics and compliance duties. Familiarity with our industry would also an advantage. The role would suit candidates with easy access to work from either our London or Bicester office.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous Director level support experience in a legal or compliance capacity (essential)
  • Degree qualified in law and/or experience in the ethics and compliance field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge of other MS Office applications including Outlook and Microsoft Team
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • French language – written and spoken (desirable)
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Pragmatic and flexible approach to tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good understanding of ethics and compliance constitution, processes and terminology (essential)
  • Hours flexibility (able to carry out overtime at short notice)
  • Competent in research aspects and presenting findings
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to prepare impactful and succinct graphical information from multiple data sources
  • Good understanding of business issues and eager to work in an international environment
  • Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Act in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide support and assist in the provision of administration in respect of ethics and compliance services and outputs including, conducting details risk assessments and reviews, policy adoption and dissemination, guidance on policy processes and key point of contact for Ethics matters.
  • Ensure ethics and compliance is fully embedded in the strategy, management and practices of RED including ongoing support
  • Attend regular meetings, either in person or remotely, with the wider Ethics and Compliance network
  • Manage and monitors policies and processes to guarantee compliance in-line with group commitments and Ethics Charter
  • Ensure all necessary resources are in place to enforce ethics & compliance policies and detect any violations
  • Setup and monitor systems for ensuring all ethics and compliance procedures are in place
  • Risk detection: anticipate, detect and analyse ethical risks and set out mitigation action plans
  • Support and champions ethics and compliance programme
  • Conduct ethical checks and due diligence for projects
  • Support the Business Services Director on Ethics & Compliance matters
  • support the delivery of training on Ethics and Compliance including inductions and changes in policy
  • Communicates changes in Ethics and Compliance policies and procedures and good practice to employees
  • Assists the Business Services Director in managing ethics issues, including reporting them to the wider Ethics and Compliance Network
  • Compilation and submission of Annual Ethics Report
  • Report on ethical and compliance issues together with the provision of supporting data for board meetings and group social reporting
  • Compliance of the declaration and treatment of ethics incidents
  • Conduct ethics and compliance audits, including the implementation and respect of the Groups compliance procedures
