The Opportunity
General Bank of Canada is looking for a permanent, fulltime Director, Financial Risk to join as a key contributor with the Bank’s Risk, Security & Compliance team. Consistent with the growth trajectory of the Bank, this is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to contribute to building the Bank of the future with considerable potential for learning, growth, and advancement.
The Director, Financial Risk is a critical leader in the dynamic second line of defense and a key partner to the leadership team. This position is responsible for ensuring prudent risk management and enabling informed risk-taking with credit risk, liquidity risk, and capital management. A critical outcome will be to advance the financial risk capabilities, modelling, policies and culture to enable sustainable strategic growth as well as create an adaptive credit risk management function, enhancing policies, models, and portfolio monitoring.
