This role is not housing-related - it focuses on corporate property, which includes offices, industrial sites, and retail spaces.
There are two main elements to the position: compliance and procurement (as I just checked over my notes from my meeting).
Role: Interim Compliance Manager
Days: 3 days per week in office
Rate: £500-£600 per day (inside or outside IR35 - assessment can be done if needed)
System: MRI (experience with this system would be beneficial)
Overseeing external contractors - particularly Savills, who manage the shopping centre (no direct staff management).
Ensuring all certificates and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Reviewing quotes and maintaining compliance across key areas such as:
Water
Electrical safety
Fire safety
Asbestos management
Managing engineering insurance requirements.
Overseeing lift maintenance, ensuring all lift tests and certificates are up to date.
The fire and water contractors currently in place require close monitoring - both contracts are re-tendered annually, so part of the role will involve ensuring that asset and compliance data is accurate and ready for the tender process.
Managed Sites - Working with managing agents (e.g., Savills) to track compliance across water, electrical, fire, and asbestos. The agents submit their findings to the council, and you’ll be responsible for auditing those results.
In-House Sites - Managing certificates, audits, and investigating any compliance issues or failures, then coordinating the necessary actions or improvements.
