Specialist role - Technical Architect

Summary of the work

Develop/manage a company-wide Data Governance strategy to manage the information life cycle effectively. Assist with setting up of Data Governance Council, winning buy-in from Senior Management. Develop/Drive governance strategy working directly with senior management and teams to ensure alignment with the overall objectives. Write standards and policies for Data Governance.

About the work

Who the specialist will work with-

Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics CIO External Suppliers

What the specialist will work on-

Define scope and priorities for developing, deploying and/or improving data management standards, policies, and processes enhancing the quality and completeness of the organization’s data. Work with the Data Governance Council and Data Owners across business units to oversee enforcement. Define key risks for data management and ensure compliance with related policies, roles and responsibilities and standards. Maintain overall accountability for the Company’s Data Governance program, inclusive of communication, stakeholder involvement, metrics and reporting, working group activities, conveying business value recognized through governance-facilitated activities. Serve as SPOC for Data Governance related activities.

Swindon, York, Bristol, Tonbridge, Lincoln, Stockport, London, Portsmouth, Bradford, Taunton, Newcastle, Preston, Birmingham, Cambridge

Working arrangements

Swindon base, expectation 2-days a week with facilities to accommodate NHSPS staff and / or its suppliers as required. 3-days a week at any of the above locations and / or supplier sites at the customers discretion based on the needs of the engagement, predominantly London.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, MIS, related field or relevant experience of implementing a proven and progressive data governance/data management process
  • Hands-on experience in implementing an enterprise data governance program and Master Data Management (MDM) solution
  • Strong project leadership and management skills to lead organizational change to effectively meet strategic and tactical goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to present to a target audience
  • Must be detail orientated/articulate with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proven management/supervisory experience

Nice-to-have skills and experience

  • Effective leadership experience, including ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, Ability to build teams and consensus
  • Skilled at getting individuals, teams, and an entire organization to perform at a higher level and to embrace change
  • Ability to lead and manage team in executing on enterprise initiatives. Working knowledge of MDM solutions
  • Basic understanding of logical data architecture
