Job Title: Compliance Auditor


Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 DOE per annum, plus company van

Role Purpose: Primary responsibility is to ensure that all construction activities are executed in strict adherence to the contracts and specifications. As well as in compliance with relevant legislation. The role is pivotal in safeguarding the integrity of our projects and maintaining alignment with regulatory standards and ensuring all payments are accurate and in adherence with the contracts and rate cards.


Main Responsibilities: Verify build activities for accurate payment assessments. Undertake commercial viability surveys and support the build team in pre-project walkouts and risk mitigation. Overseeing project closures including final measures, technical document review, and reconciliation.


Key Activities:


While duties and responsibilities will vary, they typically include:


  • Verify completed build activities for precise payment assessments. Check measures and quality and compliance. This will be completed by either on-site measure (joint walk outs) and from evidence capture.
  • Conduct commercial viability surveys to evaluate commercial premises costs and risks.
  • Support build team in pre-project walkouts to identify and mitigate risks and support associated commercial activities.
  • Oversee project closures by reviewing technical documents and conducting final inspections and measures.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Undertake acceptance criteria and process of build and contract compliance.
  • Technical support for all commercial activities.

Essential Person Specification


Knowledge:


    • Technical knowledge Fibre/Civils/PIA.
      A high Computer literacy and proficiency in Excel.
    • Understanding of commercial activities on a construction contract.
    • NEC3 and Contracts (Desirable)
    • CEMAR (Desirable)
    • Knowledge of relevant specifications, legislation and guidance notes e.g HAUC Spec, Openreach Standards, Chapter 8, CDM (Desirable)


    Skills/Attributes:


    • Commitment to upholding ethical standards, maintaining independence, and ensuring impartiality and fairness in audit processes.
    • Ability to analyse complex data, identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, and draw actionable insights from audit findings.
    • Capacity to identify issues, investigate root causes, and develop effective solutions to address technical challenges or compliance gaps.
    • Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing technical documents, conducting inspections, and identifying discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
    • Ability to interpret specification/legislation contract information and apply in an operational manner.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, environments, and audit scopes, and to effectively navigate complexities and uncertainties encountered during audits.
    • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, build relationships, and facilitate productive discussions to achieve audit objectives.
    • Ability to understand schematics straight line drawings.

    • Proficiency in understanding and interpreting technical documents, specifications, and regulations relevant to the industry being audited


    Experience:



    • 3 years in a technical role within telecommunications or a technical auditor role.
    • Technical specialist role such as Fiber surveyor / Build assurance / Manager / consultant / Fibre designer / Build Manager / Fibre Engineer.
    • Experience working with contracts or legislation.
    • Working on an NEC3 contract (Desirable)
    • Working in a commercial role e.g. QS (Desirable)

    Circumstances:


    • Core working hours will be 7.5 hours between the hours of 8am-8pm Mon- Sat.
    • There may be periods of extensive pressure to meet non-negotiable deadlines.
    • This role will require some on - site presence across Devon and Cornwall
