Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Monitor & Compliance Specialist (M&C) is responsible for Provider data entry of extensive case information for individuals in the assigned coverage area into the state Client Assignment and Registration data base system (CARE), the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership system (TMHP) and Helen Farabee Center’s (HFC) SmartCare system.  M&C will complete medical record audits for the General Revenue (GR), Texas Home Living (TxHmL), Home and Community Based Authority Services (HCS), Community First Choice (CFC), Enhanced Community Coordination (ECC), Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) programs. M&C will monitor for compliance regarding IDD Service Definitions, Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority (LIDDA) Performance Contract, Medicaid, and any other special programs as contracted with HFC’S internal policies and procedures and Medical Records requirements.  M&C will forward medical record audit findings to responsible staff.  M&C will also complete medical record reviews prior to Quarterly Data Certification Audits using list provided by Regional Monitor and ensure medical record delivery for these audits.  M&C will be responsible for updating Quality Management’s spreadsheets to track data entry on a daily or weekly basis.  HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care throughout the agency, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and a safe and respectful environment for all individuals served and staff.  All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position. Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

Must have a High School Diploma or graduated from an accredited GED Program.  At least 1 year of experience with clerical/secretarial or data entry work as the primary job duty. 

1 college semester (15hrs) in related field may be substituted for each 6 months of clerical/secretarial or data entry experience.

Must have current driver’s license and be insurable under Center insurance.  Position may require use of personal vehicle in performance of job-related duties and proof of PIP insurance.  Must pass and maintain all Center-mandated trainings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to read and interpret material(s) at the high school level.  Must be able to write at the high school level.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics at the high school level is required.
  • Must provide verbal feedback to staff and to participate in meetings. 
  • Must possess the ability to use a computer with basic word processing equipment and programs, spreadsheet programs and work in database programs to complete data entry.
  • Ability to use a copy machine, fax machine and calculator if necessary.
