Job Summary:

Works with hospitals eligible for the 340B program to ensure compliance with state/federal defined rules and regulations associated with the program. Assists facilities in maximizing appropriate purchasing and replenishment of medications under the 340B program. Helps manage the contract pharmacy program, facilitating relationships between the organization, the contract pharmacy management vendor and the hospital contract pharmacy partners.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
  • Three years' technical experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification: Required
  • National Pharmacy Technician certification: Preferred
  • PTC OR CPht OR CPHT-NHA: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and maintains 340B-related policies and procedures to ensure they are implemented at the eligible facilities.
  • Assists facilities in maintaining Charged Device Model (CDM) to National Drug Code (NDC) crosswalks to ensure appropriate purchasing and replenishment of medications.
  • Works with the contracted split billing vendor to maximize program compliance and appropriate product purchasing. Works with contracted contract pharmacy vendor to facilitate growth of the program.
  • Conducts internal audits for 340B program compliance. Identifies gaps in program performance and assists in development of action plans to resolve identified issues. Provides reporting on 340B metrics. Provides educational materials to pharmacy services staff regarding on-going compliance and appropriate product purchasing.
  • Maintains responsibility for 340B program effectiveness which includes identifying program improvement opportunities, as well as, solutions/recommendations for improvement of the programs. Participates in projects, programs and special initiatives related to 340B.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
