Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities required to achieve product safety and environmental compliance across the U.S.. They will provide technical expertise that supports TEL product safety guidelines and be an advocate for environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains current knowledge of U.S. product design requirements, regulations, standards, and guidance and ensures effective communication to customers and management.
- Represents TEL within standards development organizations, specifically SEMI EHS Standards and related standards task force work-groups to identify and reduce operational impacts to TEL.
- Participates in the formal SEMI Standard writing and voting process, to ensure new revisions to the SEMI standards are value added for TEL.
- Addresses customer EHS compliance requests and provides the factory feedback on deviations from compliance challenges identified.
- Coordinates and assists with third party compliance audits as determined by business requirements.
- Investigates new or upcoming product safety and environmental compliance regulations that may impact TEL and regularly shares this information with TEL corporate groups in Japan or Europe.
- Participates in industry association work groups in advocacy activities on new and modified regulations.
- Creates innovative, custom TEL engineering training courses that summarize and clarifies differences of interpretation of the numerous design codes.
- Prepares high quality presentation materials and training materials to meet project objectives and for internal and external communication
- Oversee an effective management system that provides verification of product and material compliance throughout the supply chain.
- Develops and updates U.S. product safety and environmental compliance policies, procedures, and programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering or equivalent major.
- 5+ years of relevant industrial, experience in a highly regulated import/export sector, preferably within Semiconductor Industry.
- Advocacy experience with codes, regulations and applicable laws is a plus.
- Ability to analyze complex laws and regulations and relate those laws to design requirements, environmental, operational procedures and company policies
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to senior management regarding design and environmental requirements and the management of risk to company
- Knowledge and experience with mechanical/electrical drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with business leadership team to set priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to clearly provide written reports that identify and quantify risk as well as present sound solutions.
Physical Requirements:
Job duties may be occasionally performed in a clean room environment. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required.
Occasional domestic or internation travel (<25%) to various locations may be required.
