You will report to a manager who embodies a leadership style focused on being a business leader while fostering collaboration among team members. The manager values a proactive approach and encourages team members to take initiative in shaping compliance processes.

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager. The team emphasizes a healthy work-life balance and respectful work hours.

The role requires minimal travel, with an expectation of approximately one trip per quarter. Travel will mainly be oriented towards working sessions and strategic alignments to ensure that the team remains connected and informed on compliance matters across different regions.

 

Your Role

  • Manage and oversee HR and Employment compliance programs specifically within EMEA, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Independently lead projects to implement new legal requirements, new country expansion, integration of mergers and acquisitions
  • Conduct thorough research on employment laws and compliance obligations to inform policy development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compensation, facilities, and payroll, to develop compliance strategies and execution plans.
  • Operationalize adherence of HR programs and processes to country and local employment related regulatory requirements; ensure HR teams and business leaders are equipped with clear, practical guidance on compliance requirements and policy updates
  • Proactively assess and monitor changes in employment laws, preparing the organization for upcoming compliance obligations.
  • Lead risk assessments to identify compliance vulnerabilities and implement project plans to mitigate risks.
  • Facilitate the operationalization of compliance processes within the HR function and ensure effectiveness through audits.
  • Support expansion of compliance efforts to regions outside of EMEA, enhancing global compliance framework.
  • Foster a collaborative and proactive team culture, emphasizing high emotional intelligence and navigating gray areas in compliance.

 

What You Will Bring

  • At least 10 years of experience in HR or Employment compliance programs spanning across EMEA.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of workforce pay gap, pay transparency, GDPR, and privacy laws.
  • Proven ability to work in a global environment and provide compliance guidance across regions.
  • Strong collaboration skills with high emotional intelligence (EQ) to navigate complex compliance issues.
  • Experience with employment laws and workforce data analysis.
  • Proactive approach to identifying compliance changes and updating practices accordingly.
  • Familiarity with tools like Workday and Tableau is advantageous.
  • Multi-language skills are desirable for effective communication across diverse teams.
