Description
  • (Internal Title: Risk III)
    • Lead the development and implementation of the project's risk management plan
    • Lead the development and implementation of the project’s risk registers
    • Facilitate risk management meetings to support completion of 5-steps risk readiness
    • Maintain risk registers at the project and program level 
    • Lead the performance of Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis using Risk Management software (e.g. Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen Risk, etc.) and the interpretation of analysis results (e.g. Distribution S Curve Graph, Sensitivity Analysis Tornado Chart, etc.) 
    • Lead the preparation of detailed project and program risk reports including P50 and P80 cost and schedule risk exposures 
    • Lead following up with risk owners to ensure mitigation actions are on track 
    • Participate in the review of contractor progress reports and identifying the risks impacting project cost and schedule and reflect them in the risk register, while working closely with team and stakeholders 
    • Consult with scheduling team to prepare high-level schedules and assess detailed schedules to be used for quantitative schedule risk analysis 
    • Lead monitoring project contingency utilization and alignment with cost risk exposures
    • Evaluate risk mitigation effectiveness by consulting with clients, project staff, and senior management 
    • Assist in preparing procedures, training materials, and work instructions relating to the principle of risk and opportunity management 
    • Coordinate closely with commercial team to incorporate Early Warning inside risk register and develop resolution or mitigation plans for them
    • Coordinate with commercial teams on incorporation of the requirements for processing claims, adjustment events and supervening events
    • Support senior risk lead on initiatives for continuous improvement
    • Prepare procedures and work instructions related to risk and opportunity management 
    • Develop Risk Breakdown Structure aligned with project WBS and CBS 
    • Organize risk training materials and train the team on the principle of Risk Management 
    • Provide technical support to the management of project risk through the facilitation of regular risk reviews at the project and program level 
    • Ensure that all program team members comply with the risk management plan, procedures, and requirements of the assigned scope of work 
    • Review contractors' progress reports and identify the risks impacting project cost and schedule and reflect them in the risk register, while working closely with team members and stakeholders 
    • Liaise with scheduling to prepare high-level schedules (or assess detailed schedules) for quantitative schedule risk analysis and define the link between risks, duration uncertainties, and schedule activities 
    • Advise cost on monitoring project contingency utilization and alignment with cost risk exposures  
    • Formulate input to reporting for project and program-level reporting

Requirements
  • Experience: 
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in construction risk management for large infrastructure projects, preferably in the railway industry

  • Education:  
    • Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • Licenses OR Certifications:  
    • Registered for and actively seeking recognized Risk Management certification such as Risk Management Professional (RMP) 
  • Skills and Competencies: 
    • Be proficient in the use of Risk Management software, such as Active Risk Manager (ARM), Oracle Primavera Risk Analyzer (OPRA), Acumen Risk, Safran or comparable dedicated software
    • Possess demonstrable problem-solving abilities 
    • Familiarity with construction methodologies, safety regulations, and environmental considerations
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Extensive knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance 
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 
    • Readiness to work autonomously and interface with a wide cross-section of personnel 
    • Detailed knowledge of working in a fast-paced project environment with the ability to respond to changing priorities from different levels of the organization 
    • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence  
    • Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices 
    • Expert understanding and application of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance 
    • Effectively lead a small risk management team  
    • Thorough understanding of prevailing risk management methods 
    • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership  
    • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities    
    • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)  
    • Sound ability to work collaboratively in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
