Job Description:
Assist investment and business groups within Blackstone Credit & Insurance in structuring, negotiating, and facilitating new investments and related investment management considerations, primarily in the UK, EU and EMEA.
Assist in management of legal aspects of new bespoke product launches, including structuring, drafting and negotiation of investment management documents and review and drafting of disclosures, and coordination with investment, marketing, operations, fund accounting and tax teams.
Coordinate with Blackstone funds formation team on new flagship fund launches.
Work with capital formation team on asset backed financing and liquidity facilities for Blackstone Credit & Insurance funds.
Work on corporate projects related to the firm, including private and public transactions, operational matters, investor relations issues and new business initiatives.
Assist in a variety of day-to-day matters faced by in-house legal group related to large, dynamic global business, including review and negotiation of confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements and miscellaneous contracts.
Assist in the review of marketing materials, investor communications and responses to investor inquiries.
Assist in ongoing legal aspects of operating existing investment funds, including review of contractual provisions, preparing amendments, and updating and revising of investment vehicles’ offering materials.
Coordinate with compliance team on transaction and investment funds-related compliance matters, including Adviser’s Act and Investment Company Act issues, AIFMD, UK and EU regulations, trade clearance, regulatory filings and designing and testing of compliance systems.
Assist in the updating and maintenance of the firm’s policies and procedures, corporate governance documents and files and research/regulatory library and filings.
Support various business groups, including investment, marketing, accounting, operations and middle office departments.
Desire to work as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment and willingness to embrace a variety of issues.
Qualifications:
Blackstone is seeking an attorney with 6+ years’ PQE experience in either leveraged finance, restructuring, M&A or capital markets to join a legal team doing challenging work in a dynamic environment.
The attorney would be a part of a highly collaborative legal and compliance group focused on Blackstone Credit & Insurance and would interact closely with the firm’s investment teams.
Ability to be proactive in new situations, and to manage projects and third parties, including outside counsel, is important.
Must be willing to roll up sleeves and work with a variety of personalities.
