The Role:

Blue Owl is looking for a Vice President to join its Legal team. We are seeking an attorney to play a key role in providing legal and regulatory advice to the funds and asset management businesses across Blue Owl’s Credit, GP Capital Solutions and Real Estate platforms. The successful candidate will provide support for Private Wealth and Institutional Business Development teams international fund-raising efforts. This role will be based in London.

The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented and organized individual who can manage multiple projects and who is excited about being part of a Legal team that covers a broad range of issues.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a variety of matters and projects relating to structuring, maintenance and distribution of investment funds, including UCI Part IIs and other regulated and unregulated fund vehicles targeted at wealth managers and private banks.
• Provide internal legal advice to new and existing investment funds, including governance-related matters for vehicles domiciled across the UK, Luxembourg, Ireland and Jersey.
• Review and negotiate agreements with service providers, administrators, and other third-party vendors supporting fund operations.
• Advise on fund distribution and offshore access fund arrangements across various fund structures.  
• Liaise with and manage external counsel in Luxembourg, Ireland, and other jurisdictions as necessary to address specific legal issues.
• Work closely with internal teams, including compliance, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless coordination between business functions.
• Stay current on legal and regulatory developments and providing proactive advice to the firm on potential impacts and necessary actions.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities for the Legal team.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of post-qualification experience at major law firm or in-house legal department working with investment funds and asset management law
• Demonstrated drive for results and ability to prioritize risks and projects to focus on what’s important in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Solutions-oriented problem solver
• Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done
• Team player with enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to learn more
• Knowledge of AIFMD
