Head of Compliance

Chariot
Full-time
On-site
New York, New York, United States
$120,000 - $200,000 USD yearly

Why Chariot

šŸš€ Chariot is a charitable payments company thatā€™s revolutionizing the philanthropic financial system. We believe more money needs to move to nonprofits faster so we are building tools that activate more philanthropic dollars and transform nonprofit operations to be more efficient. Weā€™re looking for top talent to join our mission driven team in changing the financial landscape of philanthropy.

We are currently backed by Y Combinator, Spark Capital, SV Angel, and top-tier angel investors like Mike Massaro, Adam Grant, and Angela Duckworth. Our team is made up of passionate and talented individuals with prior work experience at Blackrock, Bain, Goldman Sachs, Palantir, and Forage (YC21).

šŸ—½ We are fully in-person in New York City, which helps us maintain our extremely collaborative and caring team culture. While we offer flexibility on a day to day basis, this role is expected to be in office 4-5 days a week.

Company Overview

Of the $500 billion donated to nonprofits each year, only about $60 billion comes through traditional ā€œonlineā€ payment rails like credit cards. The other $440B move through ā€œofflineā€ processes and archaic systems. Not only is this bad system risky and slow, it creates tremendous operational burden at nonprofit organizations and deters total giving.

One of the best examples of this is Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). DAFs hold $230B+ in charitable assets and are the fastest growing vehicle in philanthropy. However, millions of DAF users are stuck behind archaic login portals, emails, or even phone calls to make a donation. Even though these are savings accounts specifically designed for charity, you canā€™t use them to pay in any of the place youā€™re most likely to give (a nonprofit website, donation form, campaign page, etc.)

Chariot built the first-ever integrated DAF payment option, DAFpay, which is now live with 52,000 nonprofits, dozens of fundraising platforms and over 85% of the DAF market by volume. DAFpayā€™s usage is averaging double digit month over month growth for the last 18 months and isnā€™t slowing down. Our customers include some of the largest and most well known nonprofits in the country like American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, March of Dimes, Pan-Mass Challenge, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Alzheimerā€™s Association.
