Summary:
Responsible for drafting regulatory responses and overseeing regulatory interactions within the Compliance Department. Supports governance and approval related activities across the Bank's compliance related regulatory remediation plans.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Licenses/Certifications: CRCM, CIA, ACAMS or similar preferred but not required.
Experience: Five or more years of experience in a leading role within regulatory compliance programs in the financial services industry, preferably in banking compliance, risk and/or legal. Experience in a relevant or related testing/monitoring/quality control role within Compliance, Audit, and/or Risk Management. Previous management experience preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions:
A: Job Specific:
- Leads all Compliance activities related to regulatory exams and reviews, including reviewing responses from stakeholders across the bank, as well as, from our Payment Division partners.
- Manages/responds to ongoing Compliance communications with regulators.
- Coordinates with Compliance team members on a regular cadence to ensure alignment of activities across regulatory exams/reviews, progress reports, communications and any additional activities related to regulatory response and remediation planning.
- Ensures that output from remediation activities have traceability back to root causes and regulatory response(s) and has proper signoff through appropriate governance channels, as necessary.
- Oversees and coordinates the timeliness and accuracy of responses to regulators, including data requests and responses to exam findings (such as Request Letters, Matters Requiring Attention, etc).
- Ensures comprehensive analyses of regulatory feedback and expectations, peer practices, underlying issues and their root causes.
- Provides bank regulatory advisory support with business partners and second line of defense to identify and mitigate remediation risks and issues.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of banking regulations, bank operations and procedures, risk management controls, and other internal control objectives and practices.
- Fosters a culture of compliance with existing and pending regulations.

- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and risk management in the financial services industry.
- Working knowledge of all Community Banking Laws and Regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ensuring data accuracy.
