The Role
As our Compliance Operations Manager, you’ll be the operational backbone of our compliance program. This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of detail and scale—who understands how to abstract complexity and operationalize regulatory requirements into robust, automated workflows without slowing down innovation. You’ll work cross-functionally with Business Development, Legal and Product to ensure we stay compliant while moving fast.
This is a hands-on role with real scope: you’ll design processes, build systems, and help define how compliance works at Gigs as we expand globally.
What You’ll Do
- Build and scale our compliance operations infrastructure – Own and streamline core compliance workflows that support market expansion, regulatory readiness, and scalable internal processes. This includes managing product compliance checks and operational processes to support new market launches and evolving regulatory frameworks.
- Design with automation in mind – Reduce manual overhead by partnering with Engineering and Product to embed controls into our systems from day one.
- Translate regulatory requirements into scalable operations - Work with Business Development, Legal and Product, to turn compliance needs into clear, efficient systems that support global growth.
- Develop and maintain internal documentation – Ensure policies, procedures, and internal audits are clear, accessible, and always up-to-date.
- Monitor and improve compliance health – Define key operational metrics, flag issues early, and drive continuous improvement.
- Act as a trusted partner – Collaborate closely with our In-house Legal, as well as external partners and regulators, to stay ahead of regulatory expectations.
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes – Proactively identify emerging compliance requirements across our target markets and build implementation plans that keep us ahead of deadlines.
- Own our audit practice – Develop and maintain robust audit frameworks to ensure ongoing compliance for both our internal and shared (with Customers) operations.
- Own regulatory compliance execution – Manage and execute our ongoing regulatory obligations including filings, registrations, and reporting requirements across different jurisdictions to ensure timely completion and continued operational compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in compliance operations at a high-growth fintech, payments company, or regulated tech business
- Strong experience operationalizing controls in a fast-moving, regulated environment – You know how to turn regulatory requirements into clear, scalable processes across areas like product compliance, vendor risk, and cross-border operations.
- You’ve built or significantly scaled a compliance function and know what "good" looks like across tools, processes, and reporting
- Comfort with tooling—whether that’s configuring a GRC system, querying a database, or collaborating on automated workflows
- Exceptional communication skills—you can explain complex regulatory topics clearly and influence stakeholders across functions
- A bias for action: you take ownership, work independently, and are energized by solving hard problems at speed
