About the role
Within this role your responsibilities will include overseeing compliance with VEV policies and procedures and external regulations. You will report into the Compliance team of VEV’s main shareholder (Vitol) and VEV Management. This is a truly ‘hands on’ position, working autonomously with the business to implement the Compliance framework and facilitate tangible compliance improvements in close coordination with the wider Vitol Compliance team. 


The Compliance function has the following responsibilities: 
  • Identify compliance risks across markets where VEV operates and implement appropriate compliance and risk management framework 
  • Implement appropriate policies, systems and controls to ensure that VEV is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Ensure continuous review of update of policies, systems and controls
  • Implement monitoring systems to ensure activities are conducted in compliance with VEV’s policies
  • Communicate and provide training on the compliance framework, policies and procedures 
  • Reporting to Management on the Compliance programme 
  • Managing relationship and advocacy with authorities and regulators, as applicable

 

Role and Responsibilities
  • Day to day support and providing advice to businesses on compliance matters  
  • Implementation of systems and controls in relation to regulatory and corporate risks
  • Liaising with Vitol Compliance to ensure consistency of approach towards Compliance matters
  • Ensure regular testing, review and when necessary update of policies, systems and controls
  • Developing and delivering training on VEV policies as required
  • Advising on compliance implications when VEV is looking at new business areas (e.g. new market entry or use of new technology) 
  • Managing relationship and advocacy with authorities and regulators, as applicable
  • Conduct analysis of compliance risks for new projects (e.g. entry into new business areas) and advise business teams on any remediations actions 
  • Representing VEV at internal and external working groups, e.g. trade associations, as applicable
Experience and qualifications required
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a Compliance role
  • Good knowledge of Compliance frameworks, including Anti Money Laundering and Anti-Bribery and Corruption 
  • Understanding of FCA Money Laundering Regulations is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Energetic team player, with an open non-political style and a high level of personal integrity
  • Results orientated, creative and demonstrably commercial
