Job Description

This is an opportunity within the Strategy, Risk & Operations (SRO) team within the Capital Markets and Factor Investing department (CMF) primarily to support the Business Strategy function. This function plays a critical role contributing to management of CMF’s capital, cost, governance, technology, strategic and operational planning tasks as well as other initiatives as required within the dynamic SRO team. The role will significantly enhance SRO’s ability to provide insightful recommendations and direction to the SMD, CMF in the allocation of our capital and resources.

Accountabilities

You will support the following:

  • CMF’s operating costs and expense budgeting process
  • CMF’s capital budget including coordination with key stakeholders
  • Annual business planning process for the Department
  • Assist in the design and implementation of technology or operational improvements within the department
  • Preparation of CMF-Committee level materials and strategic communications
  • Representation of CMF in cross-departmental working groups
  • Strategic, technology or operational initiatives within SRO as required, including items related to technology & operations, enterprise risk and compliance
  • Interaction with various groups within CMF and across the enterprise, principally Finance, Audit, Legal, Risk, Technology & Operations. These discussions will require strong collaboration and communication skills

Qualifications

  • CA, CFA or equivalent professional designation
  • Knowledge of public market asset classes and alternative strategies
  • Experience in the preparation and reconciliation of capital budgeting and financial reporting
  • Operational experience, including process design and documentation and some data analytic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to craft and drive a strategic narrative, based on the production of insightful analysis that will inform key strategic choices for CMF
  • Strategically-oriented, inquisitive and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Effective use of visual aids to simplify complex information
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, including high proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Tableau and Sharepoint
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced environment
